The Adventurer Jones

I sliced through the bush cutting vines and swishing them to the side with the help of my trusty machete I could tell I was nearing the end of the bush as it was getting drier and drier then as soon as I thought I would make it out alive I felt the feel of something coiling around my leg.

At first I thought it was a vine but, when I looked down I was shocked to see that it was in fact a snake. As quick as a flash I grabbed it with my bare hands and threw it at a nearby tree. I picked it up once again and swung it. Then I crushed its neck as hard as I could squeezing out every last drop of venom into my mouth.

As I was very thirsty after being in the bush for days. I would have drunken some creek water yet, it was crocodile infested. I threw the snake up into the air and sliced it apart and ran I ran as fast as I could but then, just as I thought I would make it out of the bush and win the competition, I heard growling behind me “GRRRRR” I looked behind me to see a giant big brown bear staring right at me.

I jolted at the sight but I knew what to do. I sprinted to the closest tree and scaled it like a monkey. I knew that the bear was hungry. I found a beehive in the tree. I plucked it out and bees went swarming everywhere stinging me as I swatted them with my mini axe.

Then the queen bee flew out barding me with its stinger. Immediately I threw the hive down at the bear and it burst open on the ground the sticky sweet honey splattering everywhere this was my chance the bear fell down onto its arms and knees and licked up all every drop there was.

I slid down the tree trunk and dashed to the end of the forest. Leaping out of the bush. “And the winner is:, Jones the fearless explorer” he said as he handed the giant golden cup to me. The crowd went wild “so sir what is my prize” I asked the announcer. “Oh and the prize is:, he said over the microphone an all expense paid trip to: New Zealand” I thought to myself well I might as well go to see what nature is like.

“Ah so we are approaching the ah Beautiful city of ah Auckland ah we will land ah shortly ah” uh why didn't I just swim I thought to myself I would love to fight the sharks sadly I have to take this lazy method of travel, I thought to myself. As we landed on the runway before the plane even stopped I opened the locked door, then jumped out nearly hitting a giant plane landing behind me on the runway.

I ran out of the airport and sprinted across the streets and into the bush after several hours of walking I decided to go back as there were no challenges “where are the moose, the bear, the scorpions, the snakes, the giant poisonous spiders and the crocodiles as I was going back I heard rustling in the bushes behind me I got my whip out just in case I was preparing then a bunny jumped out.

Uhhh I thought to myself as the bunny was running away “BANG” I heard a gunshot the bunny fell to the ground and a man wearing a long camouflage jacket holding a rifle picked up the bunny and walked away another few hours past by and I heard more rustling in the bushes I pulled out my revolver in case. It was just a wild deer but it kicked me pushing me into a pile of dirt which ants came out and started to sting and bite me.

“OUCH OWWW!” I said as I fell backwards into a river of the current of the water pushing me into hard sharp rocks. With that long black sleek looking eels crossed over me and bit deep into my flesh feeling the pain I jumped up high into the air and fell down a deep waterfall and down into the river below it.
“AHHHH!!!” I shrieked as I hit the sand hard on the ground. I felt a wriggling feeling in my bite and sting wounds I looked to and to my surprise I saw maggots infesting deep into my deep cuts.

I jumped out of the water freezing, bleeding and bruised. I limped along lugging my numb legs behind me. I heard yet another gunshot: “BANG!” I froze in solid my tracks. I turned around to see four people behind me holding guns. This they were pointing at me “DON'T MOVE AND YOU WON'T GET HURT!” one said. Despite the constant pain of my body I could still move “THIS IS OUR LAND BOY!!!!” one said in an American accent. “Okay then” I said.

I jumped up once again scaling a tree then I ran along the tree tops. However I missed one jump and fell through the branches and back onto the ground “I'M AFRAID TO TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE GOT YOURSELF INTO ONE STICKY SITUATION, AIN'T THAT RIGHT CLEETUS!” said the American one. “YES SIR!!” another American accent one said. “not for long I said” I banged one of their heads into the other, knocking two of them out. “OH MY” one said. I grabbed a grip of another and spun him around twirling and twirling. I let go, sending him flying far out into the ocean. The last one threw his rifle far out into the ocean and ran away screaming like a girl.

“Well then I thought” “ the New Zealand bush is far more dangerous than I thought”. “Time to make my way back home”. With that he jumped into the ocean and began swimming back to Australia. Along with five grey fins following him.

  1. Whew! I am glad that I got to the end of this story without the Adventurer Jones coming to an untimely end. Such were the situations he got himself into and his many encounters with such fierce creatures and wildlife! Reading your description about the long black sleek looking eels reminded me of the time that you actually did get a bite from one when you were much younger as you fed it. This story certainly kept me engaged right to the end and I like how you finished the final paragraph with an idea that there are more exciting or frightening! adventures in store for this guy as he continues his ADVENTURES! Mum.
