This stop motion is about how the kapua (clouds) absorb all of the wai (water) and
drench out the ua (rain).
drench out the ua (rain).
At the start it doesn’t tell you much about weather because that was just for fun.
I tried to put in Maunga (mountains) in but they just did not fit.
Wow! This is actually very entertaining as well as informative about the water cycle! I thought the addition of the shark and crocodile were very amusing and the use of cotton balls to make the effect of the cloud and the rain was very resourceful.
ReplyDeleteAlso I learned some new Maori vocabulary which was great!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you are learning some Maori words and using them in your writing. Now that you know that wai means water and maunga means mountain, you can look at a map of NZ and see how many times wai and maunga are used as names. Do you know why Te Waipounamu is the Maori name for the South Island? If you do you will know what the English word for pounamu is. Grandma.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, Charlie! I love the way you have used stop motion to illustrate the water cycle. It made it such fun and so interesting! How did you create those rain drops?
